Leasehold Valuers was established in September 2013. Based in Croydon, but working across England and Wales, our dynamic team is highly qualified and experienced in all aspects of leasehold reform and the valuation of residential leasehold properties.

Louie Burns
Partner

Passionate about the rights of leaseholders, Louie is well-known for his campaigning work on behalf of leaseholders. Louie regularly appears in the media as an expert, and presents at events, seminars and conferences in the wider property industry. Louie co-authored the Leasehold Valuers Relativity Graph 2017, which is now widely accepted in the sector and has been used in a number of recent tribunals.

Steve Jones

Steve’s passion for residential property began at a young age and before he obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Real Estate Valuation. He then became a graduate surveyor, where he was introduced to Leasehold Reform work just in time for the 2002 update in legislation and qualified as a chartered surveyor. Steve has solely acted for leaseholders since 2007, after joining John D Wood & Co., where he helped produce the Pure Tribunal relativity graph and a Working Paper on rare sales of un-enfranchiseable leases. Since 2013, Steve has been Director of Valuation for Leasehold Valuers, overseeing the lease extension and freehold purchase of thousands of properties across London, the South East and increasingly beyond, whilst also helping produce an updated graph on relativity.

Joanna Stephenson
Senior Valuer

Joanna is a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer. After attaining a degree in Estate Management from Edinburgh Napier University, she began her RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) training at the largest residential valuation firm in the Middle East, undertaking mortgage valuations for notable private clients and financial services including HSBC and Standard Chartered. She joined the Leasehold Valuers team as a Graduate Surveyor in May 2015, qualified and then became a Senior Valuer in November 2017. Her work now predominantly involves Leasehold Reform matters, together with RICS professional valuations including tax and probate.

Sophie Lyall

Before joining Leasehold Valuers in 2013, Sophie previously worked for Estates Gazette and, in conjunction with Auctioneers across the South of England, advised property investors on their Buy to Let portfolios. With a passion for residential property, Sophie is currently working towards obtaining a BSc (Hons) degree in Estate Management, whilst studying for her APC. Sophie has been the Business Manager for Leasehold Valuers since 2014, assisting lease extensions and freehold purchases on behalf of thousands of property owners.

Dean has a real passion for surveying property, borne from personal experience of completing a lease extension. Dean made a career change into residential surveying, specialising in the leasehold reform sector in 2014. He is currently studying to achieve the AssocRICS DipSurV & RICS Registered Valuer qualification. “I enjoy using my personal experience to provide clients with valuations and information allowing them to understand the complex process of a lease extension.”

Darren joined Leasehold Valuers in March 2015 as an Administrator, working up to Sales Executive. He is now a Trainee Valuer and is studying a degree in Real Estate Management BSc (Hons) and working towards Chartered status with the University College of Estate Management. “Having worked for larger companies in the past, I enjoy working for a small business and having a greater say in the day-to-day running of a business.”
